And people who perform manual labor such as lifting or operating heavy machinery and aren’t conscientious about using correct form can experience sudden and severe pain and issues when their back finally gives out. Just like how nerves can become pinched the spine by the vertebrae, the bones in your wrist can pinch nerves causing you to develop carpal tunnel syndrome. Frequently people choose expensive and invasive medical solutions without knowing there are proven, successful treatments for carpal tunnel syndrome that use non-invasive methods. Carpal tunnel medical procedures can cost up to tens of thousands of dollars and fail to provide relief 40% of the time.
Patients may feel tingling or inflammation in the hand, if the median nerve is irritated due to swelling and misalignment in the wrist. Some patients notice their grip weakening or have difficulty picking up small things.
Sometimes people remember a specific injury that caused the symptoms soon after, other times people have no idea what may have caused their carpal tunnel. Research has shown that jobs using instruments that vibrate, or the repeated use of the wrist and hands in the workplace have a greater risk of causing carpal tunnel.
Carpal tunnel generally starts in the dominant hand, but can grow to affect both hands. Unfortunately many treatments only focus on where the pain is found, despite evidence showing the root of carpal tunnel frequently stems from a different region of the body. It’s been proven that people suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome, usually have nerve damage that beings in their spine. And this is why many invasive medical procedures which only treat the hands fail in four out of ten surgeries.
Do you have a disc injury or a slipped disc? Disc injuries and vary greatly in severity depending on how the injury happened. The underlying causes and and pain, require the experience of a trained chiropractor to effectively treat so that you return to living a pain-free life.
Discs, are the thin cushions between your vertebrae that allow your spine to properly function. These discs have a rigid layer around the outside and a softer, springier center to absorb shock in the spinal column. These discs are between each vertebrae and allow you to maintain flexibility and nerve function. Without these discs movement would not be possible.
TYPES OF DISC INJURY
If there is a slipped disc in your back then the cushiony substance inside your disc has leaked partially out from underneath the vertebrae. This condition often results in the inflammation of the surrounding nerves and severe pain.
A more serious condition is when the disc becomes herniated. A herniated disc results in the internal fluid of the disc being pushed out even more so. This results in even more pain and at times partial paralysis of the nerves in the area.
One of the most extreme disc injuries, disc extrusion, results in the internal fluid of the disc popping almost or completely out from under the disc. This often causes excruciating pain and a significant reduction in flexibility.
